Art Studio Opening in West Jordan Utah

     Jean Powers has opened her art studio for scheduled tours or appointments. Phone (801) 280-4035.   Jean has recently began portrait painting, and will accept commissioned portraits at reasonable prices.   Samples of this work are displayed in the studio. She has studied portrait painting under Frank Covino, http://portrait-art.com/index.htm who teaches the methods of the old masters.   Jean has also studied under the highly skilled artist and teacher, Fran Richens of Thermopolis Wyoming.

     If you want a gift for a friend or loved one, consider a scene that holds special memories in original hand painted oils.   Jean will design a landscape from one or more photographs.

      The studio at 4998 Copper Canyon Way will be open on a regular schedule soon. Watch for announcements of the "Grand Opening".    Come in to visit and view the gallery collection.   The artist will be selling originals as well as prints, and looks forward to presenting
her art to the public.

About the Artist

"Jean Powers" was born in a rural community of approximately 500 citizens and is proud of her Wyoming heritage. The community encouraged its’ youth toward a strong education and a diligent work ethic. These values have been passed down from families of homesteaders in the not too distant past. The artist’s parents were children of the “Great Depression”, and installed the belief that anything can be achieved with hard work, knowledge, and sowing positive seeds in the world. Her love of learning directed her to a career in education. The artist continues her education today taking classes and learning about oil painting styles from the old masters to Andy Warhol. Art, as a visualization of imagination, presents the challenge of transferring the mind’s eye to a canvas. The artist believes that painting is primarily a learned craft.
